WECOLME TO JAPAN!

Airport Assistance

If you're a first-time traveler to Japan and unsure about what to do at Narita or Haneda airports, the volunteer group "Skylets" can assist you with tasks like purchasing an IC card (SUICA), buying rail or limousine bus tickets, picking up your Wi-Fi or SIM, and guiding you to the right place to catch a train, bus, or taxi.

While you can manage these tasks on your own, it might be a bit chaotic and take twice as long. After a long flight, knowing that "Skylets" is there to help can be incredibly reassuring and make you feel safe.

Welcome on December 13, 2025

Riko and Hide from Skylets greeted a family group at Narita Airport on December 13, 2025. The group’s leader, Emille, shared a post on her Facebook page.

Original French:

Day #1: December 13, 2025
🇯🇵✨ Arrival at Narita Airport!
Barely had we landed when we were welcomed by Hide Fukuyama, a volunteer guide from Skylets, a Japanese organization that offers personalized assistance to travelers at very low cost — and in several languages.
🙏
Their services:
✔️ Checking the proper functioning of our eSIM
✔️ Activation and testing of our SUICA cards
✔️ Purchase of our train tickets
✔️ Clear instructions to reach our hotel
✔️ Accompaniment to the train station boarding platform to get to the hotel

Hide also gave us detailed instructions for each step of the journey to our hotel.

He could even accompany us to the hotel if necessary, but his directions were so well explained that we immediately felt independent.

He walked part of the way with us.

A thoughtful gesture that makes all the difference after a long flight!

I had booked his services in September, and I can only recommend this initiative: reassuring, warm, and incredibly convenient for starting a trip to Japan on the right note.

An arrival marked by kindness… and already a first glimpse of Japanese hospitality that stole my heart.

Welcome on May 17, 2024

We, two of the Skylets members welcomed a family from Los Angeles in the afternoon of May 17, at Narita Airport.

We assisted them with purchasing PASMO PASSPORTs and bullet train tickets at terminal 1.

They were so delighted to get the IC cards with a cute design of Sanrio Hello Kitty.

Then we moved to terminal 2 by a shuttle bus, where they checked in the JAL counter to fly to Itami Airport.

The 23-year-old son showed us the detailed travel itinerary on his smartphone.

Mom said, “There’s one thing we were disappointed: We had tried hard to reserve tickets for Ghibli Park, but every time on the day of the tickets were issued, we ended up with no tickets. “

They were excited to eat genuine Sushi, Okonomiyaki, and Washoku, since they often eat Japanese food in their neighborhood.

They are visiting Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima, Himeji, and then going back to Tokyo.

Enjoy Japan!!
